Mendiola tour
For those that are hungry for cider culture

The Astarbe family has been making cider since 1563, so this is a cider house with a long history. Currently, the 15th generation of the family runs the cider house: the brothers Hur and Joseba, their sister Kizkitza and their mother Agurtzane, together with the rest of the team. They take great care and affection in making their cider and cooking. The visit to this house is very special, we will taste homemade cider and an aperitif prepared with care by local chefs during the visit. While we walk through the apple orchard and the winery we will discover all the secrets of this historic farmhouse and this peculiar family. We will taste the Euskal Sagardoa cider and the sparkling Byhur cider of the house based on their own varieties of apple Astarbe and Mendiola. To round off the visit, we will toast making txotx in the wooden cellar!
